The ancient town of Ileogbo in Ayedire local government area of Osun State on Saturday went agog as hundreds of worshippers across the state besieged the district to catch a glimpse of the 2020 edition of Osun Praise Celebration.
The event which was held within the premises of City of Praise, a Christ Apostolic Church along Ileogbo-Kuta road in the local government was filled to capacity and also featured special prayer sessions for Nigeria and mass of her people.
The congregation was thrilled by popular Nigerian artistes including Messers Goke Bajowa, Seun Sax, Yemi Olabisi Apala, Femi Lacastar as well as bodies of choirs including Mutual Benefits Assurance choristers and Mass Choir, Osun chapter.
Highlighting the significance of praise and worship, Reverend John Adeleke, the guest speaker at the event, in his address maintained that those who put their affairs in God’s hand and appreciate all that He has done would continue to see His hands in their affairs.
He added that David was favoured among and above his peers sequel to his unusual and consistent act of praise and worship.
He admonished Nigerians not to despair and be steadfast in hoping for a better tomorrow. “We must also not forget to seek for His forgiveness for total acceptance of our praises,” he added.
While feeding questions from journalists, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, the convener of the event disclosed, “he is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.”
“When we praise God, God will manifest Himself in our lives. Nothing is more honourable than a grateful heart. So, the event is aimed at praising Almighty God.”
“The lesson to take home is that it is good to praise God. I urge everyone to stay true to this belief and trust that only God can perfect things. He alone is worthy of all praises and adorations.”
The special prayer sessions were led by Chairman, Strategic Committee, Christian Association of Nigeria, Osun State chapter, Rev. Jacob Asani, Pastor I.O Adedeji and Pastor Victor Akande.
Also present at the event are traditional rulers including Olu of Ile Ogbo, Oba Habeeb Adetoyese II, Agbowo of Ogbagba, Oba Sikirulahi Olabiran, Olu of Sarigbe, Oba Kamilu Ajadi Ojelabi, Onigege of Gege, Oba Kazeem Adio Orioye, and others including: Pastor Victor Bajulaiye, Pastor Oloruntoba Steven Oluwatomiloye, Bishop Seun Adeoye and High chief Rapheal Akanmu Nafiu, the Asiwaju of Ileogbo.
