JAC: NYSC Sensitize Corps Members On Job Creation, Business Ownership (Pictures)

As part of preparatory ceremony marking the passing out parade of the Nations Youth Service Corps NYSC 2019 Batch A, Ondo Chapter, the State Coordinator of the scheme, Mrs Grace Akpabio on Wednesday organized a Job Advising and Counseling (JAC) program for the outgoing corps members in the state.

Mrs Akpabio while congratulating the participating corps members at the program held at St Mathias Anglican High school, Alagbaka, advocated for judicious use of all the skill acquisition programs the corps members have learnt during the course of their service year.

Akpabio also urged the outgoing corps members to be security conscious as well as take cognisance of all avoidable errors likely to emanate as the service year winding up, especially the issue of misspell of names on their discharge certificate.

Assistant Director Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development(SAED), NYSC, Ondo state, Mrs Ehimehen Etohan noted that JAC is a sensitization program organized to avail the corps members on various job creation initiative and opportunities after service.

She added that the aim of SAED is to enable corps members be self reliance, financially independent and create job in the competitive market.

Representative of Central Bank of Nigeria CBN, Mr. Akintunde Ojo disclosed that the Apex Bank had brought up some financial intervention program aimed at providing employment opportunities for the teeming youths in the country.

Akintunde added that the Agribusiness, a Small and Medium Entrepreneurial Investment Scheme, designed for business starters which enables young entrepreneurs to have access to as much as 10million naira loan to start their own businesses and payable within 7years is part of the initiatives to make life comfortable for young graduates after their National Youth Service.

He said prospective entreprenours who have enrolled and certified by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) and other institutions that train people on agricultural businesses can benefit from the financial aid program.

Also present at the event are the State Coordinator, National Directorate of Employment, Mr Awokoya Dare Olusegun, Representative of Bank of Industry (BOI) Mr Ashaola Femi, Chief Executive Officer, Beads, Cyril Etaoghene among others.
