The Federal Government has finally updated the list of political appointees by deleting the names of aides who have been dropped.
Saturday PUNCH had on May 23 reported that the late former Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, was one of those still on the list of aides to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), weeks or months after they vacated their seats either through death or replacement.
A check on Wednesday showed the new Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, has been listed as a replacement for Kyari.
Our correspondent also noticed that “on suspension” has been written against the name of Prof. Charles Dokubo, who was suspended as the Special Adviser to the President/Coordinator, Presidential Amnesty Programme in February.
Another change noticed is that the late Tijjani Yusuf’s name had been deleted from the list of special assistants, over 10 months after his death.
It was also noticed that a former chairman of the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Okoi Obono-Obla, had finally been delisted as the Special Assistant to the President on (Prosecution), Federal Ministry of Justice.
He has now been replaced with Mr Abubakar Babadoko, who was listed as the Special Assistant to the President on (Public Prosecution Coordination), Federal Ministry of Justice.
Other updates were observed.
After the report also, one of the names of two official photographers for the Vice-President that had been appearing on the list had been dropped.
Novo Isioro was delisted as the Special Assistant to the President (Visual Communication), Office of the VP, while Tolani Alli was retained as Special Assistant to the President (Photography) Office of the VP.
Mrs Damilola Ogunbiyi has also been delisted as Senior Special Assistant to the President (Power), Office of the VP.
