Bola Tinubu’s Mother, Abibatu Mogaji, on podium in 1979, campaigning for Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Philip Umeadi and Alhaji Lateef Jakande.

Chief Awolowo vice presidential candidate in that election is Philip Umeadi and they ran a Christian – Christian ticket.

Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji was a core Muslim and yet she campaigned Openly with all her strength for Obaseki Awolowo Christian-Christian ticket.

Awolowo went on to win the whole SW region by over 90% of the votes.
